Biography
Christopher Edes was born on July 6, 1979 in Rochester,
NY. He has lived in Rochester most of his life, although
he has lived in many places, including: a year in Romania as an infant;
a year in Colombia, Missouri; a year and a half in Los Angeles; a year in
Chicago; a year in Norfolk, Virginia; and 3 years in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. Chris has lived the other 20 of his years in
Rochester, New York.
He spent his three years in Pittsburgh attending
Carnegie Mellon University, where he majored in Physics and
English. The high cost of tuition inspired him to postpone
his last year of education and enter the work force.
Several years of employment in retail gave Chris his
first business and management experience. This was also where he learned
that good customer service requires things that cannot be purchased;
namely, sincerity and integrity. He will remember these
lessons, when he serves our community as Commissioner of Schools.
For the past 3 1/2 years, Chris has enjoyed a career in
the Information Technology field as a Systems and Network
Administrator. His employer, the Questra Corporation, is a
leading software development company.
In 2005, Christopher Edes entered politics as a
candidate for Rochester City Council. His name appeared on the
ballot as a member of the Red, White and Blue Party, along with three
others. Since then he has remained active, organizing
political events and helping to direct the Rochester Civil Liberties
Coalition in their efforts against the PATRIOT Act.
Chris is currently Chairman of the Greater Rochester
Libertarian Party and serves on the State Committee of the Libertarian
Party of New York. He is also currently a member of the Rochester
Bill of Rights Defense Committee.
